Over night stay in Cowra Van Park. Just needed to break up the journey between Camp Blackman and Canberra. Park is beautifully located right on the river. The river precinct provides lovely walking and picnic spaces and the art work under the bridge is worth stopping and taking a look. Painted by local artist Kym Freeman they are meant to represent elements of Wiradjuri culture in the area. There are also some fairly accomplished tiles created mainly by local school students and the overall effect is to turn the bridge pylons into an outdoor art gallery. Cowra, conveniently has a few dinning options, if you want a night off from cooking, between the pubs and a selection of restaurants you have a bit of choice, we had a great meal at one of the local Chinese restaurants. Cowra is also worth a stop over for the Japanese Gardens.
