For this week’s book snap I picked a great example of a published journal, Anthony Sher’s journal from the year he created a legendary, award winning performance as Shakespeare’s Richard the third. A remarkable account of the craft of acting and a very insightful examination of the play. Sher is also interesting for his account of being a South African Jew at the height of apartheid, this is a highly entertaining and insightful account, Sher is a talented artist and his artwork is scattered through the book.
Thanks. I rarely do this, but I just ordered a copy. My WIP, the Pride’s Children trilogy, has two actors and a novelist as the main characters, and this sounds like a very useful supplement. My own acting can only go so far.
