Bit frustrated this morning; went out to get a coffee and go to the dog park to take this weeks BookSnap but forgot my phone, some days I don’t think I am actually fully awake until the second cup of coffee. Anyhow thought I would grab Daniel Defoe’s Journal of the Plague Year from the uni library, seems appropriate for our times. Maybe it is because of the times but I have never seen so many people and dogs at Queens Park off leash area as this morning. At least there we can get out and still enjoy a social Sunday coffee while giving each other space. The dogs were certainly enjoying the morning. I don’t think Ada understands the social distancing concept.

#BookSnapSunday is a weekly bookish Instagram meme hosted here at Gum trees and Galaxies.com, if you would like to join in please feel free to leave a link to your post in the comments below. Happy reading.

  1. I hadn’t heard of this title by Defoe – any good? My family know to not even speak to me until I have had my first cup of coffee but I think it does often take the second cup for the brain juices to be flowing properly.

    1. Only just started dipping into it. Defoe is not to everyone’s taste, I did not like Robinson Crusoe but liked Moll Flanders and I think from the history perspective this is an interesting read. Defoe wrote it I think about fifty years after the plague year in question but he used primary sources extensively.
