Just a quick book snap this week, feeling a bit slack. John Lewis-Stemple is one of my favourite nature writers, Meadowland The private life of an English field is a surprisingly compelling account of a year in the life of a sheep paddock and The Running Hare is a just as compelling account of efforts to restore a piece farmland to pristine meadow. I also love the covers on these books. The secret life of the Owl is a short little book, informative and beautifully written not as great as the other titles shown but still a good nature read.

#BookSnapSunday is a weekly bookish Instagram meme hosted here at Gum trees and Galaxies.com, if you would like to join in please feel free to leave a link to your post in the comments below. Happy reading.

  1. Like those covers too, even though we shouldn’t really choose books by the cover. I still do anyway. My daughter Bec might like the ones about owls – loves everything owlish. My reading has slipped terribly in the last few weeks and now booksnaps will be limited to home. I’ll have to be really creative now.
