Last week was not a particularly productive week blog wise but planning to bring a bit more discipline and enthusiasm to this coming week, starting with this week’s BookSnapSunday, my current read the eerily, plague themed thriller from Lawrence Wright. Wright won a Pulitzer for his account of Al Qaeda and the road to 9/11 in The Looming Tower and while The End of October might be a novel, it is informed by fact and intimate knowledge of the threat of pandemic, and dysfunctional US politics. Just started reading but I am loving this intelligent thriller that gives insight into the real threat that pandemic poses.
I feel like I am witnessing a major turning point in history at the moment, with the utter destabilization of America with the current pandemic playing a part in that process. I think this is going to be a week where I need to stay away from the news both international and local. Less screen time and more reading time.
#BookSnapSunday is a weekly bookish Instagram meme hosted here at Gum trees and Galaxies.com, if you would like to join in please feel free to leave a link to your post in the comments below. All you have to do is post an image of a book. Happy reading.
