#BookSnapSunday is a weekly bookish Instagram meme hosted here at Gum trees and Galaxies.com, if you would like to join in please feel free to leave a link to your post in the comments below. All you have to do is post an image of a book. Happy reading!

Really loving Chris Flynn’s Mammoth, a bold, playful, book with lots to say, now if only us hominids would listen.

Mammoth is narrated by an extinct mammoth awaiting sale at a natural history auction in New York in 2007. The reader is taken on a sometimes comic journey from the Pleistocene to the 21st Century. From the blurb: “With our planet on the brink of calamatious climate change, Mammoth scrutinises humanity’s role in the destruction of the natural world while also offering a message of hope.” Just loving this short but seriously entertaining and thought provoking read.

Have you ever had a conversation with an object or a work of art in a museum? Has something really spoken to you and taken on an imaginative life of it’s own? I know I have but I may post more on that later.
